The Lowy Cancer Research Centre at UNSW is Australia's first facility to unite childhood and adult cancer researchers, housing up to 400 scientists. Our brand officially opened by Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and NSW Premier Kristina Keneally.

HOPE

Opened on May 28, 2010, and named after Frank Lowy, who donated $10 million, it's a shared home for UNSW Faculty of Medicine and Children's Cancer Institute Australia researchers. Inaugural director Professor Philip Hogg received the 2009 Cancer Institute NSW Premier's Award. Funding came from Frank Lowy ($10 million), the Australian Government ($13.3 million), the Australian Cancer Research Foundation ($3.1 million for the ACRF Drug Discovery Centre), and $103 million from the sale of UNSW's Little Bay sporting fields, covering most of the $127 million cost. Designed by Lahznimmo Architects and Wilson Architects with a focus on sustainability, it was officially opened by Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and NSW Premier Kristina Keneally.

Make it stand out

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
